Growing for your Home Garden
Growing for your Home Garden
Time: 10 am - 4pm
Location: Belmont Demesne, Templacarrig, Greystones, A63FX34
Growing for your Home Garden is the first in a series of in-person growing courses we will be conducting this year from our 2 acre market garden at Belmont Demesne. We are truly excited to share our learning and expertise with the local community and inspire more people to grow their own vegetables from their home in 2025!
The course is suitable for both complete beginners who want to learn the basics of how to start growing vegetables at home, and intermediate hobby growers who want to hone their skills.
Here's a summary of what's included in this course:
Tour our farm and see how we grow vegetables at market garden scale.
Learn how to set up your home garden or growing space, and how to grow 10 simple but rewarding and high yield crops.
Learn the basics of propagation and planting that can be applied to a wide range of crops.
Sow seeds in pots and module trays that you will bring home with you.
Learn how to protect and care for your crops from seed to harvest.
Taste some of our delicious veg as part of a field to fork lunch provided in the café onsite.
Leave with a 'party pack' of compost, seeds, growing trays and detailed instructions on how to grow your own vegetables at home.
Engage with the Abercorn Farm team and other course members throughout the season in our dedicated post-course Whatsapp group.
